When you call it a date, it puts you in the same category as every other guy who’s CHASING her… which you don’t want to do.

does that work for you? (if she sounds unsure, don’t continue, call her out on it… ‘you don’t sound too sure about this… (shut up and let her talk)’ )
Cool, it will be fun to meet up….. but if you’re bigger than me or shorter than my dog, we’re gonna have to just be friends. (chuckle)
