Take a class

Going a step further, you can always take cooking or dancing classes, and show your forte with the hands-on approach (lucky you), killing two birds with one stone.
Here’s the catch — you’re going to have to participate. Classes are usually taken by enthusiasts on a particular subject so you can’t just walk in unprepared. If the discussion is about Southeast Asia, then know something about the native communities, about the areas in question. Likewise, if you’re taking a dance class and you’ve been chosen to demonstrate your salsa skills, you better know your way through a six-step movement. Whatever the occasion, you’ll get a chance to meet and converse with your target, and taking the same class will put you on some common ground. Impress her with your passion for a particular subject and an engaging discussion, and afterwards, you can always talk about it more over a nice dinner.
